DETAILS

PHOTOGRAPHER
Rob Sambrook Photography will be joining us on the first and second dress rehearsals to take solo, sibling and group photos, as well as live shots as the children dance. During our previous shows, each child had at least 5 photos, and some parents managed to download up to 20 photos! All are included in the Show Fee.

Thank you note from Taylor's Dance Company with a black background, white decorative borders, and a silhouette of a dancer at the top. The note expresses gratitude for a successful performance, mentioning the girls' enjoyment and pride from the show.

SHOW FILMING.
We will again be offering the chance to purchase the show on either DVD, Blu-Ray, Online Stream or USB. This is a fantastic way to remember the experience, and for the children to see the other performers. I know many of the children regularly watch their dance show films. This year Moving Memories Productions will be selling the Show Films directly.

COSTUMES
Each costume will be prepared for your child. They will be looked after by TDC and brought to and from rehearsals and the shows, and then taken away at the end of the Show. No washing/ ironing is required by parents! All we ask is that you supply the correct Tights/Socks & Dance Shoes.

TICKETS.
Tickets will be charged at £19.50 + fees charged by the Mercury Theatre. These will be purchased on a first-come, first-served basis, and last year sold VERY quickly! We will let you know in advance of the release date. We will be offering a VIP Ticket which will include a programme & early access to purchase tickets!

WHY SHOULD MY CHILD TAKE PART?

Taking part in the dance show is a fun and exciting experience! It’s a chance to perform on stage in costume, build confidence, and be part of a team. Children learn commitment, teamwork, and the joy of performing — and it’s a memory they’ll treasure for years to come. Our goal is to create a professional show that everyone will enjoy!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WILL MY CHILD BE HAPPY & SAFE?
Absolutely! Your child’s safety and wellbeing are our top priorities.
We’ll introduce our backstage team before rehearsals so you know who’s caring for your children.
There will be qualified first aiders, fire safety plans, and secure sign-in/out procedures.
Each group will have at least one licensed chaperone and another approved adult, both aware of medical and allergy information.

Children always have great fun backstage — they’re grouped with friends, and returning performers are already excited for this year’s show!

MY CHILD IS VERY NERVOUS AND ANXIOUS ABOUT PERFORMING.

That’s completely normal!
We focus on building confidence and excitement, not pressure. We talk about the fun parts — costumes, lights, and dancing with friends. Everyone (even the teachers!) gets a bit nervous before performing.

We start practising routines in January, giving plenty of time to prepare and build confidence.
Last year, many children who were anxious at first ended up loving the experience — and even found new confidence for school plays!

If your child is feeling nervous, please reach out to Sophie or Niki — we’re here to help.

WILL I HAVE TO LOOK AFTER MY CHILD?
No — children are fully supervised throughout rehearsals and performances.
We use Council Licensed Chaperones, all of whom hold valid DBS checks and references approved by ECC. We follow all safeguarding rules under the Children & Young Persons Act 1963 and The Children (Performances and Activities) (England) Regulations 2014, and operate under a Body of Persons Licence.

Please note:
If you’re not part of the backstage team, you won’t be able to go past the sign-in desk.

I’M WORRIED ABOUT THE LONG DAY & LATE NIGHT?
The rehearsal day is no longer than a regular school day — and filled with fun, friends, and excitement!
We make sure our youngest performers are at the venue for the shortest time possible, especially on Friday evening.
The latest show will finish around 9:15 pm.

Yes, everyone is a little tired by the end, but the energy and excitement carry them through — and they’ll have Sunday to rest! Even our youngest dancers (ages 2–3) managed brilliantly last year.

WILL MY CHILD HAVE TO WEAR MAKEUP?

Yes — all performers wear light stage makeup so their features are visible under the bright stage lights.
We suggest a simple base: foundation, lip colour, and a little eyeshadow. Please apply this at home in a way you’re comfortable with. Our backstage team can help if needed. Some costumes may also include face paint.

If your child has sensitive skin or you prefer them not to wear makeup, please contact us — we’ll find a suitable solution.
Think of it as fun face paint that’s only worn for a few hours and washes off easily.
