MEET THE TEAM
NIKI TAYLOR AIDTA- PRINCIPAL
Niki has been dancing since the age of five, with core training in Ballet, Tap, and Freestyle. She is an Associate of the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA).
In 2015, Niki founded Taylor’s Dance Company, and in 2023 launched Dance for Everyone CIC, a community initiative aimed at making dance accessible to those with limited opportunities. She also serves on the board of Creative Colchester, helping to connect and support the wider arts community in the area.
GRACE RUFFELS- OPERATIONS & ADMIN MANAGER
Grace discovered her love of performing at the age of 15 and quickly developed a passion for the stage. A dedicated singer she performed and competed for many years, and continues to enjoy performing through choirs, charity and family events.
With a strong commitment to grassroots sport and supporting young people, she is excited to be part of the Taylor's Dance Company family. Here to support and always happy to help,
SOPHIE HILL- TEACHER
Sophie has been dancing since the age of 2½ and has performed at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Sadler’s Wells and His Majesty’s Theatre. She studied Dance Performance & Production at Colchester Institute before continuing her training at LMA in London, where she graduated in 2024 with a First Class Honours Degree in Dance Performance.
She teaches a wide range of dance styles but has a particular passion for jazz. Sophie also loves show time and regularly performs with the Witham Amateur Operatic Society, where she continues to share her love of performing alongside her teaching.
JESS BRUNT- TEACHER
Jess has had a love of dance and musical theatre from a young age, inspired by her mum, who performed in the original London cast of Cats. She graduated from Performers College in 2016 and has performed on The X Factor, as well as in music videos and Bollywood films in India.
Jess is passionate about inspiring the next generation of dancers and loves watching students grow in confidence, creativity, and their love for performing. She feels privileged to help nurture their passion and enjoyment of dance.
OLIVIA WATTS AISTD- TEACHER
Since her very first show as a Dingle Dangle Scarecrow, Olivia has followed a clear path into teaching. Completing her A‑levels and ISTD dance exams before studying Primary Education at the University of Winchester. She has since continued her professional development through ISTD DDE Modern Theatre training.
Tap is her favourite style to teach, and she loves being able to turn her passion into her work, sharing that joy with every class she leads. She is excited to be part of the Taylor’s family and inspire students as they learn and grow.
TIA WINTERBOTTOM- ADMIN SUPPORT
Tia holds a degree in Theatre from the University of Chichester and has been involved in drama and dance from a young age, performing in everything from street and rock ’n’ roll to musical theatre. She began teaching at 15, and quickly discovered her passion for helping children grow in confidence.
With experience across both teaching and behind‑the‑scenes organisation, Tia loves being part of the support system that helps students thrive. She is dedicated to creating joyful, encouraging environments where every performer can reach their potential.
BETH WRIGHTSON- TEACHER
Beth began dancing at Jackie Cox Theatre Dance School in the late 1990s and went on to join The English Youth Ballet in 2002. She trained at Mala Dance as both a student and class helper until 2009, returning in 2024 as an Assistant Teacher. Beth studied Dance, Drama & Theatre Studies at college and will begin her ISTD teacher training in September 2025.
Having performed at venues including Sadler’s Wells, His Majesty’s Theatre and the Royal Albert Hall, Beth is passionate about sharing her love of dance with the next generation. She enjoys helping students build confidence, develop their skills and enjoy every moment of their dance journey.
ANNE-MARIE JOHNSON AISTD- TEACHER
Anne‑Marie trained in dance and musical theatre at Performers College in Essex, gaining her ISTD Diploma in Dance Education, before completing a Masters in Musical Theatre at Leeds Conservatoire. She choreographed for the graduate showcase and went on to work professionally across the UK.
With eight years’ teaching experience, Anne‑Marie has worked with students from age three to adults. She is passionate about helping every dancer find joy in performing and loves seeing her students grow in confidence.
SAMANTHA CANTRELL AISTD- TEACHER
Sam began dancing at the age of 3 in a Saturday class at a local village hall—where she now teaches her own students as the founder of Ignite Dance Company. An ISTD-qualified teacher, Sam specialises in Disco and Street Dance, bringing energy and passion to every class.
A long-time friend of TDC, Sam has been a regular performer and supporter at our showcases and events. In addition to her dance career, Sam also runs her own accountancy firm, balancing creativity and business with ease.
AIMEE PETTIFER AISTD- TEACHER
Aimee has been dancing for as long as she can remember. She graduated from Masters Performing Arts College in 2016 and has performed on The X Factor, in music videos for renowned choreographers, and at multiple Children in Need events.
Since gaining her DDI in ISTD Ballet, Tap & Modern, Aimee has taught a wide range of dance styles. She joined TDC in 2022, bringing vibrancy, fun, and enthusiasm to every class. Aimee loves sharing her knowledge and passion for dance with the next generation.
