acro dance
Acro includes elements of acrobatics, gymnastics, partner work and dance.
Our Acro classes are fun and great for building confidence and trust when working together. Pupils learn and improve tumbling, flexibility, strength, balance and partner/group work.
Our teachers are qualified in and follow the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum. The curriculum provides easy progressions and focuses on flexibility and strengthening skills. We also learn lots of Tricks, including Cartwheels, Bridges, Handstands, Fish Rolls and Aerials!
We pride ourselves on ensuring our Acro pupils are safe when practising & performing. We teach the fundamentals to ensure our pupils know how to do Tricks without damaging their young bones & muscles!
Our dancers are trained to perform skills on both sides of their bodies, ensuring they have creative freedom in choreography and seamless transitions from various angles.
WHY ATTEND DANCE CLASSES & ACRO CLASSES?
We recommend Pupils to take one of our regular dance classes consisting of ballet, tap & modern as well as their Acro Classes!
Acro builds strength and flexibility—but it’s only half the picture. To really shine, dancers need the control, musicality, and technique that comes from regular dance classes like ballet or modern.
In Acro class, we focus on the tricks. Dance classes fill the gap—helping your child move beautifully between skills, perform safely, and bring real artistry to their routines.
It’s the perfect combo for confident, well-rounded dancers!
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GYMNASTICS & ACRO DANCE??
Acrobatic Arts and gymnastics may look similar, but they’re worlds apart. Gymnastics is a sport; Acro dance is an art.
In gymnastics, dance connects the big tricks—tumbling is the star. In Acro, the dance and acro moves are fully blended. You shouldn’t see the tricks coming—they flow naturally with the music and choreography.
Plus, gymnasts perform on sprung floors for power and height. Acro dancers work on hard stages, so control and artistry are key.
