We invite you to take part in our bi- annual showcase. Everyone is likely to perform at least one dance, with people who attend two classes performing two dances.

Last year at the Show our lovely Adult Tap Ladies also helped backstage- either in refreshments or as chaperones/supervised adults/runners.

Details below:

VENUE: St. Benedict’s Catholic College, Norman Way, Colchester.

Sunday 9th June:      Dress Rehearsal- 10am – 4pm
Everyone will be requested for rehearsal on stage & photos in time slots throughout the day. We will release these times as soon as possible.

Sunday 16th June:    Dress Rehearsal- 10am – 2pm
Everyone will be needed for the whole day.

Saturday 22nd June:   Performances at 1pm and 6pm. You will need to arrive from 11.30am. The evening performance will end 8.30pm approximately.

If you are unable to make any of the above dates please let me know- as we may still be able to work around things.


Rob Sambrook Photography will be joining us on the first and second dress rehearsals to take solo, sibling, group photos, as well as live shots as everyone dances. I understand some adults would not want to have solo photos, however everyone will be part of the live shots and group photos. If you would like solo photos then there will be a cost of £10 for unlimited downloads.

Once the dances have been confirmed we will discuss costumes- some may be sourced by yourselves, some may be hired or brought by TDC. If costumes are sourced and organised by TDC. We will hire these to you at a cost of around £10- £15. They will be looked after by TDC and brought to and from the rehearsals and shows,

Tickets will be purchased on a first come, first served basis, and will be released in the new year. These will cost £12 for adults and £8 for children. You can purchase as many tickets as you so wish. These will be released during the Easter Holidays.

A professional company will film our matinee or evening performance. DVD purchases are NOT compulsory. These will be charged at £18-£20 (to be confirmed). This is a great way to remember the experience, and to see the other performers.

We would kindly ask for anyone taking part in the Show to be part of our Backstage Crew. We have a fantastic time during the show days, and helping backstage distracts from any nerves!!! We will ask what days and times you are available to help, any extra assistance at any time is really helpful!

We would be looking for volunteers to be Licensed Chaperones/ Supervised Adult. We would be looking for people to help with selling uniform, refreshments etc.etc.

We are required by Essex County Council to have Council Licensed Chaperones; these are adults with a valid DBS and references approved by ECC. We must also abide by the Children & Young Persons Act 1963 and The Children (Performances and Activities) (England) Regulations 2014 and apply for a Body of Persons License. At any point through the rehearsals or shows we could have a visit from a Council Appointed Enforcement Agent, to check we are following all the necessary safeguarding and health and safety rules and regulations.

Being a chaperone/supervised parent means you will be looking after children backstage- helping them change etc. There will be at least two adults per 12 children. You will also need to take children back and forth to the stage area.

If you don’t fancy helping the children- you could help with the refreshment area, or a runner (going to get people from changing rooms at the correct times)

ECC have made improvements to their Chaperone service- I will be able to process the DBS and ID, and there is only a charge of £15 for the DBS renewal. (as of 2018). Anyone volunteering as a Chaperone will receive one free ticket to either performance/or free costume hire.. If you are happy to help backstage; please let Niki know, and we will pass on further information.
